The highly renowned Japanese dining venue, OKU, at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, recently celebrated its second anniversary with an exceptional seven-course wine-paired dinner prepared with great care and devotion by OKU’s Chef Kazumasa Yazawa. Eager diners flocked to the popular event, which was beautifully decorated with cherry blossoms and candlelight and accompanied by live music. Chef Kaz pulled out all the stops and presented exquisitely prepared delicacies including the just-in-season ice fish that was flown in that day, a richly satisfying sea urchin toast, his signature crispy chicken, grilled grass-fed wagyu and a beautifully presented Strawberry Surprise. Guests were greeted with a glass of SBX sparkling brut wine, while a selection of Delicato wines and a 337 Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 were paired with the courses. The sated guests left the evening already looking forward to many more evenings at OKU.
