You can’t talk about kid-friendly destinations in Hong Kong without a nod to Ocean Park Hong Kong. Hong Kong’s first theme park celebrated its 40th anniversary last year and continues to thrive with its combination of history, amusements, entertainment and education.
Divided into two areas, from the entrance on the Waterfront side you can reach the main section of the park – The Summit – by a 1.5km cable car ride or marine-themed funicular train system. The park is much loved by local and international visitors alike because it hosts various interesting attractions and fun rides. It has four different roller coasters – including the self-explanatory Thrill Mountain, for starters.
Then there are animal exhibits with various themes, including giant panda habitat, rainforest and forest exhibitions. Ocean Park Hong Kong is also home to a vast aquarium featuring the world’s largest aquarium dome. The aquarium has more than 5,000 fish from over 400 species.
