Singapore recently hosted the second International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific at Marina Bay’s Sands Expo. The leading luxury travel event saw 560 exhibitors, 560 buyers and a slew of international editors and influencers from luxury travel publications flood the city. The exhibitors included the top names in the luxury hospitality industry, including Accor, Marriott and IHG, as well as country representatives and tourist boards from places such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Africa and Switzerland. Over 30,000 appointments between buyers and suppliers were made as luxury travel brands and destinations raised brand awareness in the region.
In addition to the meetings, presentations and swanky events held to showcase venues, the region itself highlighted its wealth and love of travelling, with Macao, Singapore, Hong Kong and Brunei Darussalam all ranking in the top 10 richest countries in the world according to Global Finance Magazine. With the global luxury travel market expected to garner USD1.154 billion by 2022 and people focusing more on spending time with family, travel and hospitality are significant sectors.
The event ended with a soirée in the sky closing party at Lavo and hundreds of happy attendees.
