For the first time ever, Sony Pictures held a studio fan event in Indonesia, specifically in Nusa Dua, Bali. The studio brought along two of its major stars, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Holland, for special events to promote the movies they are starring in – Men in Black: International and Spider-Man: Far from Home, respectively.
Running over the course of three days, the event included a fan event where more than 400 fans from all over Indonesia interacted with the stars, a press conference for the media and a preview screening as well. In addition, Sony Pictures also promoted The Angry Birds Movie 2 and brought the movie’s producer, John Cohen, to give a sneak preview and talk more about the movie.
“We are very excited to bring this event to the beautiful island of Bali, marking a celebration of two of our big summer releases,” said Brett D. Hogg, senior vice president, international distribution for Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.
Hemsworth shared the sentiment, “This is the first time a big studio has come and done something in Indonesia, so it’s pretty exciting to be here.”
Holland, who was a first-timer in Indonesia, didn’t hold back with the excitement, “We are far from home, we are in Indonesia, in Bali, and the turnout’s amazing! The fans have been so wonderful, so supportive!”
