Alila Bali gives back through the Giving Bag.
As one of the leading hotel brands in Bali to encourage the sustainability movement, Alila is now furthering its initiatives with the help of its staying guests. To give back to the local communities, Alila resorts in Bali have rolled out the Giving Bag, a sustainable hotel amenity that makes it easy for the resorts and their guests to make a positive local impact.
Implemented at the four Alila resorts in Bali since January year, a bag is placed in each guestroom and guests are encouraged to donate any unneeded, gently used items at the end of their stay. These left-behind items are then collected and donated to local charities annually.
At Alila Seminyak, the bag is made available in the resort’s premium suites and all items are donated to YPAC SLB-D, a special education school for children with physical or intellectual disabilities.
At Alila Manggis, all gently used items are collected and donated to Yayasan Bali Kumara, a foundation focused on the education and health of children from disadvantaged families.
At Alila Ubud, the resort is donating all left-behind items to KIM School in Ubud. Formerly known as Sari Hati School, this non-government organisation works with special needs children and teaches them basic self-care and life skills to gain some independence.
At Alila Villas Uluwatu, the items are donated to the Bali Life Foundation, a home that provides education and health care to orphaned, abandoned and rejected children from the age of five to fifteen in Bali.
With this new initiative, Alila has a simpler solution to reuse and recycle unneeded items for the benefit of those in greater need, hoping that the guests will continue their journey with not only lighter luggage but also a lighter heart.
