Just in time to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the stylish Spanish luxury hotel is creating special mooncakes for the festivities.
On 21 September, many regions in the east and southeast of Asia will celebrate the annual Mid-Autumn Festival. Believed to be a month that brings good luck, many five-star establishments around Asia are taking part by baking limited edition mooncakes for this festival. Mooncakes are round treats that symbolize the full moon to bring luck and wealth to the recipient.
Gran Meliá Jakarta is offering a selection of delectable mooncakes in both savoury and sweet varieties. Signature mooncakes include baked white lotus with single egg yolk, baked white lotus mooncake, baked red bean mooncake, pandan mooncake and fan-favourite durian mooncake. These mooncakes are carefully crafted by the skilled team of the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant, Tien Chao.
As gift-giving is usually the norm, these mooncakes come in an elegant box adorned with colourful decorations. Prices start at IDR90,000++ for a single mooncake and the hotel is offering a 50 percent discount on every order made before 17 August.
