Q: Can you summarise your journey so far in the hospitality industry?
A: My journey in the hospitality began back in 2001, when I juggled being a part-time waitress and wrapping up my Japanese literature studies. Post-graduation, I felt a magnetic pull toward the vibrant world of hotels, kickstarting my professional voyage as a sales executive at one of Jakarta’s most prominent five-star hotels in 2005. Since then, I’ve immersed myself in the sales and marketing sphere, traversing through the corridors of eight hotels and six esteemed international chains, over the course of 19 fulfilling years.
Q: What are your responsibilities?
A: As the commercial director, I play a role in guiding our commercial strategies, overseeing areas such as sales, marketing communications, reservations and revenue management. I focus on developing and implementing strategic initiatives while fostering partnerships to steer our business towards growth.
Q: Are you a team player or a team leader?
A: I believe in the importance of both being a team player and a team leader. As a collaborator, I work closely with my colleagues to achieve our goals together. At the same time, I am prepared to take on a leadership role when needed, providing guidance to keep us on the right path.
Q: What is the most important trait to have in your work ?
A: Reliability is a cornerstone of my approach to work, it provides stability in this very dynamic industry.
Q: What attracts you to the hospitality industry ?
A: The opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures that populate the hospitality universe captivates me. Interacting with a diverse tapestry of individuals from around the globe fuels my passion and enriches my journey.
