Nestled in the lush landscapes of Ubud, Samsara Ubud, a prestigious boutique luxury villa, hosted an enchanting musical soirée on 21 June 2024.
The event, themed Uniting the World with Love, featured mesmerising performances by the acclaimed cellist Asep Hidayat and his gifted daughter, Neam Hidayat, at the picturesque Gallery Samsara Ubud.
The evening began with a heartfelt introduction by Bayu Sarwono, the owner of Samsara Ubud, who expressed his vision of the event as a unique opportunity to celebrate and preserve the artistic heritage of Indonesia. Highlighting the villa’s commitment to the arts, he emphasised the importance of nurturing local talents and showcasing their diverse skills.
The musical journey spanned two captivating hours, divided into two sessions of 45 and 35 minutes, respectively. The first session opened with a solo performance by Neam Hidayat, who enchanted the audience with her rendition of J.S. Bach’s Cello Suite No.1 in G Major. Her performance set the tone for the evening, showcasing her exceptional talent and passion for music.
The highlight of the evening was the duet between Neam and her father, Asep Hidayat. Their harmonious collaboration resonated deeply with the audience, blending classical elegance with familial warmth. The second session continued this enchanting musical dialogue, leaving the attendees in awe of their combined artistry.
The event culminated in an intimate dinner at The Kelusa Restaurant, where guests were treated to a gastronomic delight featuring three exquisite culinary creations. The evening left a lasting impression on all who attended, reinforcing Samsara Ubud’s dedication to fostering the arts and celebrating Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
With the success of this inaugural event, Samsara Ubud envisions the Samsara Arts Series as an annual tradition, bringing together a diverse array of Indonesian artistic talents, from musicians and painters to dancers and storytellers. This initiative not only celebrates the arts but also supports a noble cause, as a portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to the Bali Care For Cancer Kids Foundation, aiding children battling cancer.
