Celebrate the Love of Coffee with Citadines Jakarta

Citadines Jakarta came alive with the spirit of coffee, hosting a series of exciting events that celebrated the rich culture of coffee.

With the theme For the Love of Coffee, the festivities offered guests a unique opportunity to indulge in a taste, knowledge and community journey. Throughout the two-week celebration, guests had the chance to explore the diverse profiles of coffee from around the world.

More than just a tasting experience, these events allowed participants to immerse themselves in the journey of coffee, deepening their appreciation for the complexity and beauty of this global favourite. From the bright, lively notes of African beans to the rich, full-bodied flavours of Latin American varieties, every cup told a story.

The celebrations started on 12 October with a delightful coffee-tasting session at Bacha Coffee, where attendees were introduced to various coffees, each with its own distinct flavour and story.  The excitement continued on 17 October with The Ultimate Coffee Challenge – Blind Tasting, in partnership with Pandu Satria and Skynine Coffee. This interactive event allowed participants to explore manual brewing techniques and participate in a blind-tasting competition where they tried to guess the origin of various coffees.

The celebration’s highlight occurred on 24 October, when the Barista Champion of Indonesia 2018, Muhammad Aga, wowed guests with his expert skills and creative approach to coffee-making. The event wrapped up on 27 October with a Sunday Coffee Morning during Jakarta’s Car Free Day. Citadines brought the coffee experience to the streets, offering free drip coffee and exclusive Ascott Star Rewards merchandise to passersby, creating a sense of community and bringing people together over a shared love of coffee.
