A night of powerful storytelling through music, featuring Indonesia’s finest classical musicians and vocalists.
The Padma Musical Series returns with an evening devoted to the rich world of opera. Titled Love and Misadventure, this exceptional performance will bring together some of Indonesia’s most esteemed classical musicians and singers for a night of powerful storytelling through music.
The concert will take place at Plumeria Grand Ballroom at Padma Resort Legian on 1 March 2025. It will showcase a curated selection of opera classics, where each piece has been chosen to explore the depth of human emotion, from passion and longing to heartache and joy.
Four accomplished vocalists are leading the evening. Those are Heny Janawati, Jeremiah Purwoto, Ardelia Padma Sawitri and Kadek Ari Ananda Putra, whose voices have graced national and international stages. They will be joined by violinist Giovani Biga and pianist Daniel Adipradhana, an arranger whose expertise has shaped the programme’s musical journey.
Daniel Adipradhana, a distinguished collaborative pianist and composer, has performed at prestigious venues, including London’s National Gallery. His arrangement ensures a seamless blend of technical brilliance and emotional depth. Meanwhile, Giovani Biga, a Summa Cum Laude graduate in Violin Performance, brings a refined artistry that has earned him recognition as a leading figure in Indonesia’s classical music scene.
Soprano Heny Janawati, known for her commanding stage presence, has performed in leading roles such as Carmen and Ježibaba across Europe, North America and Asia. She is also a vocal coach and the founder of Janawati Academy. Jeremiah Purwoto, a tenor with an extensive opera and musical theatre background, has collaborated with international ensembles after earning his MA in Vocal Performance from the University of York. On the other hand, Ardelia Padma Sawitri has performed various works, from Baroque to contemporary compositions. At the same time, baritone Kadek Ari Ananda Putra has showcased his talent in productions like Gianni Schicchi, Le Nozze di Figaro, and Carmen.
This performance will be an immersive cultural experience, appealing to seasoned opera enthusiasts and newcomers alike. With a programme designed to highlight the emotional depth of opera, audiences can expect an evening of moving performances in an intimate setting.
Doors open at 6pm and a cash bar is available before the concert begins at 7pm. Tickets start at IDR350,000 nett per person, with a 30% early bird discount available. Students with a valid ID can enjoy a 40% discount, while BCA cardholders receive 20% off general seating.
