JW Marriott has unveiled its second resort in the Maldives with JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort. Set within Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon, this luxurious retreat is conveniently located just 15 minutes by boat from Velana International Airport, offering a serene escape where guests can recharge amidst the beauty of the Indian Ocean.
The resort features 80 meticulously designed private pool villas, including 47 overwater accommodations above the turquoise waters. Each villa is an intimate haven complete with expansive terraces and uninterrupted ocean views. The pinnacle of exclusivity is the Three-Bedroom Ocean Residence, a lavish retreat where families or friends can immerse themselves in luxury while taking in panoramic ocean vistas.
The resort is committed to sustainability and has partnered with INVENA to design a 30-metre-long underwater coastal structure, developed with assistance from MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab. This initiative aims to combat beach erosion and enhance marine life, allowing guests to engage with this innovative environmental project.
Dining options abound, with seven venues offering diverse global flavours. The overwater Spa by JW features exclusive BABOR skincare treatments, marking the first time such offerings are available in the Maldives. Families can take advantage of the JW Marriott’s Family by JW programme, which includes activities in the Kids’ and Teens’ Club and immersive cooking classes that utilise fresh ingredients from the JW Garden, fostering a connection to nature.
