As the CEO and Founder of Greenwoods Group, Okie Imanto has established a reputation as a developer focused not only on aesthetics and quality but also on sustainability. With a background in economics and finance, he entered the property industry driven by his passion for architecture and design.
Q: Did you always dream of working in property development, or did you have other career aspirations when you were younger?
A: Since high school, I have always been drawn to design and architecture. Initially, I wanted to be an architect, but my academic journey led me to finance and economics. When I returned to Indonesia, I was determined to become an entrepreneur. I explored various business sectors, but property development brought me the greatest satisfaction, both professionally and personally. As a developer, I can still contribute to the world of architecture and design, creating something tangible and impactful for many people.
Q: As a leader in the property industry, how would you describe your idea of a perfect home?
A: An ideal home adapts to the needs of its residents. In Greater Jakarta, homes are primarily designed for functionality. Greenwoods Group features five distinct brands: Bale’Arsa, Citaville, Damara, Aria and Greenwoods Country. Each brand is tailored to meet the diverse demands of the market. In Bali, our approach is different. We aim to create residential resorts with homes that offer comfort for long-term living while evoking a holiday-like experience. This concept allows residents to enjoy the balance between the comforts of home and the essence of a daily retreat.
Q: What’s the vision for Damara Estate Jimbaran Hijau, and how does it showcase Greenwoods Group’s dedication to quality living?
A: We believe a home should be more than just a place to live. It should offer a better living experience for everyone within it. That’s why every project we develop is designed to create a dynamic community, where residents not only enjoy modern architectural design but also benefit from green spaces, layouts that encourage social interaction and facilities that support a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, we incorporate design elements that ensure long-term comfort for the residents. Our goal is for everyone living in our properties to feel they’re experiencing a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
Q: What makes Damara Estate Jimbaran Hijau an excellent choice for those looking to invest in a home?
A: Its strong investment potential is one of its key attractions. Many buyers initially purchase homes here to live in, but many later convert them into rental assets. We offer property management services that simplify the rental process for owners. Most tenants are long-term expatriates and digital nomads, creating stable demand and attractive returns for property owners.
Q: How does the design of Damara Estate Jimbaran Hijau complement the natural beauty of Jimbaran?
A: We pay close attention to integrating natural elements into each project. One of our main strategies is to preserve existing trees and vegetation while aligning the layout with the land’s natural contours. We also use neutral tones and materials that blend with the surrounding environment, creating a home that integrates seamlessly with nature. This design approach fosters a connection between residents and Jimbaran’s natural beauty.
Q: What steps do you take to ensure your developments are environmentally friendly while still being comfortable and high-quality?
A: We implement several sustainability principles in every project. First, we respect the natural landscape and local culture by preserving as many natural elements as possible. Second, we use locally sourced materials to reduce the carbon footprint and support the local economy. Third, we collaborate with local communities in construction and property management to ensure a positive impact on the surrounding area.
Q: Can you share any exciting new projects or plans in Bali with us?
A: We’re continuously expanding and building on our successful collaborations. After the achievement of Damara Village Jimbaran Hijau in partnership with Jimbaran Hijau, and Damara Village Ubud Alaya Collection with Alaya Hotels & Resorts, we are excited to be working with Jimbaran Hijau once again on Damara Estate Jimbaran Hijau. We’re also collaborating with Parang Kencana on the upcoming Parang Kencana Seminyak Residences. Additionally, we see great potential in Labuan Bajo as an emerging property destination. We’re currently exploring a project there, remaining true to our core concepts of sustainability and harmony with nature.
