Immerse in Cultural Activities This Day of Silence at Four Seasons Resort Bali

Celebrate Nyepi with immersive cultural activities and unforgettable family experiences at Four Seasons Resorts Bali at Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan.

Falling on 29 March 2025, Nyepi, the New Year in the Balinese Saka lunar calendar, offers a truly unique experience, one that cannot be found anywhere else. Known as Day of Silence, this deeply meaningful occasion is honoured through peaceful reflection, prayer and meditation.

To mark this special day, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan have curated a variety of cultural activities and inspiring traditions. For those wishing to fully immerse themselves in every mindful moment, the Resorts’ Stay Longer offer includes a complimentary fourth night when booking three consecutive paid nights.

Bali’s New Year is far from a loud, bustling celebration. Instead, it’s a time to rest and recharge, embracing the island’s unique spiritual essence. Restorative silence prevails across Bali: the airport is closed, no fire or lights are permitted for 24 hours and people spend time at home with their families. Nyepi celebrates the values of kindness, connection and love, with a strong focus on togetherness.

Cultural events are at the heart of Nyepi celebrations. At Four Seasons Resorts Bali, guests are invited to take part in a wide range of complimentary activities. At Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, guests can delve into Balinese mythology through captivating storytelling and enchanting cultural performances. Guests can also join a traditional Ogoh-Ogoh Parade, where giant hand-painted puppets representing evil spirits are paraded through the resort, accompanied by the sounds of traditional instruments.

Oceanfront Jimbaran Bay also offers a selection of complimentary experiences, including Chakra Darshan Yoga, a powerful practice to begin the Day of Silence with the rise of divine Kundalini energy up the spine. At the Resort Temple, guests can partake in the Sila Giri Kesarah Temple Experience and Nyepi Storytelling, gaining a deeper understanding of this sacred festival. There are also interactive classes, such as the art of Aksara calligraphy and the opportunity to make Balinese Canang offerings, sweet rice cakes and herbal health tonics.

Over at Four Seasons Sayan, guests can discover the art of klangsah, woven coconut leaf mats used to create hats, bowls, handbags, baskets and ornaments, as well as gebogan, intricate fruit towers offered in ceremonies for blessings.

Additional complimentary experiences at Sayan include Visuddha Truth Chakra Yoga on Pengerupukan or Nyepi Eve, focusing on the throat chakra’s attributes of purpose and individuality. On Nyepi itself, guests can attend a morning session of Ajna Perception Chakra Yoga to connect with third eye energy, followed by an evening meditation under the stars, offering the perfect opportunity to embrace the tranquillity.
