iclub by Regal, Sheung Wan Hotel is one of a new breed of select-service hotels that is springing up in the region’s towns and cities designed to offer comfortable yet affordable accommodation for the business and leisure traveller. “”Being minutes away from the very efficient integrated transportation system and only a short walk from Star Ferry Terminal, getting around is simple””.
For those visiting Hong Kong and needing a hotel as a base, the newly opened iclub Sheung Wan really has a lot going for it. It is affordable, centrally located and convenient for the business and financial centres, as well as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. From a tourist perspective, the island’s traditional markets, hawkers and buzzing nightlife are a big draw. Being minutes away from the very efficient integrated transportation system and only a short walk from Star Ferry Terminal, getting around is simple. It’s about half an hour from the airport and only 15 minutes to SOHO and Lan Kwai Fong, meaning easy access to some of the city’s best shopping and dining options.
Set over 33 floors, there are 248 guestrooms and suites. All rooms are modern, almost minimalistic, and the use of airy colours, mirrors and glass, along with diffused lighting, makes for a pleasing uplifting atmosphere. The rooms feel quite spacious and are comfortable and all have LCD TV, multimedia connectivity panel with USB and complimentary internet access.
There are seven room choices across the 33 floors, with size, floor level and bed type being the main differences. The iSelect and iSelect Premier are about 16sq.m. in size and with one double bed they cater for the individual traveller. The iSelect Premier rooms are on higher floors and offer views over Victoria Harbour.
“”The hotel is 100% smoke-free and also has rooms and facilities with various aids to assist in making the stay as pleasant as possible for guests with disabilities””.
The slightly larger iPlus and iPlus Premier have two twin beds and again the Premier rooms offer harbour views. The iBusiness rooms are about 18sq.m. and feature more space and one double bed. The iSuite, with terrific harbour views, is approximately 35sq.m. and features a dining area, as well as bedroom and comprehensive in-room facilities. The iResidence is approximately 60sq.m. and features two bedrooms with two double beds, two bathrooms and separate living area along with the harbour view.
