A Journey of Transformation at Bali Island School

As 2025 begins, Bali Island School celebrates a remarkable year of achievements. Students have earned accolades in events like the Bali Math Competition, Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad and World Scholars Cup, showcasing their commitment to excellence and growth. On the sports field, the BIS Dragons performed impressively in the Bali Schools Sports Association championships, with standout performances by the Basketball Dragons and Girls’ Volleyball Team. Additionally, the Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming teams excelled at the Indonesian International Small Schools Activities Conference, with three swimmers shining at a Jakarta Swimvitational. A Grade 5 student also secured first place in the 400-metre Kids’ Dash at the Maybank Marathon Bali.

Bali Island School’s dedication to service, sustainability and community engagement was evident beyond academics and sports through impactful initiatives that reflect its core values. In Buleleng, the school collaborated with national coach Agung Gantar to host a coaching clinic for over 40 young athletes, nurturing local talent and fostering a love for sports. Students also partnered with the Livingseas Foundation to plant coral fragments in a protected area and worked with Villa Kitty to sterilise over 45 stray cats in Gianyar.

Education and community involvement took centre stage through the Taman Bacaan initiative, where students taught English and donated books to local children in Sanur. At the Maybank Marathon Bali Sustainability Pavilion, they demonstrated their commitment by sharing sustainable practices with their peers. Furthermore, a collaboration with Maggi Farm involved Grade 5 students in workshops on sustainable living, promoting environmental stewardship and aligning with global sustainability goals. These efforts underscore the school’s dedication to creating a positive impact both locally and globally.
