Under the brand Angsana, Banyan Tree Group has reopened the third upscale property in Mexico, Hacienda Xcanatun.
With a promise to be the new historic-chic oasis in the region, Banyan Tree Group has recently announced the reopening of Hacienda Xcanatun, operated by luxury operator brand Angsana. Located only minutes away from archaeological zone of Dzibilchaltún, guests will be treated to a stay inspired by the Yucatan culture.
Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana presents a contemporary interpretation of the legendary Yucatan haciendas. Showcasing contemporary art and pleasant modernity, the hotel is built on a historic legacy, preserving the ruins of the original structure. Pre-Hispanic and modern elements are incorporated through the new design, including the 18 renovated suites designed by renowned Mexican architectural firm Estudio 240.
Outside the comfortable rooms, the flagship restaurant offers a culinary experience inspired by the origins of the region. Helmed by chef Paloma Ponce, the dining venue brings French techniques combined with a distinctively Mexican touch. Curated cooking classes and gastronomic activities provide guests with a greater sense of place.
Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana opened its doors under the safety regulations of the federal and state governments, and through its global SafetySanctuary Programme – an international certification and proprietary label in safety and wellbeing protocols, co-developed in partnership with Bureau Veritas.
“Mexico is the gateway to luxury tourism in the American continent, and we are delighted to be part of this opportunity, and to operate a property like Hacienda Xcanatun. This is our first property managed by Angsana in the country, and we are proud to bring the brand to this terrestrial paradise in the Yucatan Peninsula,” said Peter Hechler, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts SAVP and Head of Regional Operations MENA (Middle East, Europe, North Africa & Americas).
