A household name in luxury hospitality, Andaz has recently announced the opening of a new hotel in South China.
Situated in the heart of Xiamen, within the mixed-use development The MixC, and close to Xiamen Botanical Garden, Andaz Xiamen is where old meets new and east meets west, weaving in the sights, sounds and tastes of the local neighbourhood to create a dynamic environment and an immersive experience for guests.
Inspired by the city’s moniker, the Garden by The Sea, the hotel is beautifully designed by world-renowned design firm JID – founded by the celebrated late Indonesian designer, Jaya Ibrahim – with influences from the tropical Nanyang style.
As in typical tropical houses, Andaz Xiamen features high ceilings, repeated arched detailing and living spaces linked by walkways open to cooling tropical breezes. Throughout the hotel, an abundance of speckled terrazzo, timber louvres, tactile wicker and rattan and graphic tiling and carpeting create continuity between spaces and reinforce the Nanyang feel. Ceilings have been inspired by pergolas and trellises to evoke an outdoor atmosphere, and much of the artwork features tropical flora and fauna created by local artists.
With 394 elegant rooms and suites, guests are treated to Nanyang-inspired private spaces adorned in neutral textures for comfort and a relaxing ambience. Inside each guestroom, the non-alcoholic minibar and snacks are complimentary.
As the newest five-star property in the area, Andaz Xiamen presents innovative drinking and dining venues to showcase the vibrant local neighbourhood through authentic local flavours. At Andaz Lounge, guests are invited to relax while enjoying the complimentary welcome drinks and snacks in the middle of the courtyard. For all-day dining, No. 101 Chinese Restaurant indulges the palate with local Minnan and Chaosan cuisines. For a nightcap, More Than Wine specializes in classic tiki cocktails with a local twist, as well as rum and agave spirits, carefully selected wines, artisanal craft beer and refreshing mocktails.
Within the hotel is space for your wellbeing with The Fitness Centre, equipped with a 25-metre swimming pool, a gym and yoga room, while for socializing, a massive 2,000sqm event space is great for gatherings, including weddings and meetings.
