Set to open this year, the long-awaited The Langham, Jakarta is appointing Gaylord Lamy as its general manager.
A seasoned hotelier with 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gaylord Lamy is ready to set a new standard of five-star luxury with The Langham, Jakarta. Prior to taking up his residency in the capital city of Indonesia, the Frenchman had garnered extensive experience in food and beverage and operations by working in cosmopolitan cities such as Hong Kong, Sydney, Paris, Boston and Chicago.
Lamy first joined Langham Hospitality Group in 2004 in Hong Kong and rose up the ranks to director of food and beverage at The Langham, Boston before moving on as director of operations to The Langham, Chicago, which has consistently been named one of the best hotels in North America by Forbes, Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure. Most recently, he was general manager of The Langham, Sydney, where he was instrumental in positioning the hotel as the leading luxury hotel in the city.
