At the helm of Banyan Tree Ungasan, Bali is General Manager Alfonso Romero, who has come a long way in his career. “I started out as a pool boy and worked my way up through all the hotel departments,” he reminisced. “What captivates me about my job is that every day is different from the next, and that it’s very intense but gratifying, especially seeing clients who are satisfied with the service we have provided for them.”
Alfonso has experienced many career milestones along his journey, including meeting prominent figures like the Queen of Spain, Fidel Castro and Colin Powell, and working alongside Michelin-starred chefs, but for him the most rewarding part of the job is something else. “I love getting to know clients, who later become friends forever, and seeing all of the less fortunate people that our business has been able to help within our community.”
When asked about his goals as Banyan Tree Ungasan, Bali’s General Manager, Alfoso didn’t hold back. “I have various goals, such as achieving financial goals, offering impeccable service to satisfy all of our clients, having happy employees and helping our community as much as possible.
