Q: How do you describe your responsibility here?
A: First of all, it is to achieve the revenue goals. Secondly, I also need to boost and establish the Hotel Tentrem Jakarta brand. I have to ensure the balance between the marketing side and the sales side of my team. I also need to oversee the market trend in Jakarta to make sure that we are on pace. In this stage, as we’ve just recently opened our property, I need to make sure that the marketing penetrations are in place, including the awareness, as well as all of our potential target markets.
Q: What attracts you to the world of hospitality?
A: What draws me as a hotelier is because I love service, and I love dealing with people. I love the perfect mix of how we can showcase our product, while at the same time, we also present our hospitality as well. It’s a satisfying and rewarding moment to see our clients and guests having a great experience in our property. Coincidentally, it’s also great when we can make our stakeholders happy with our business performance.
Q: Can you tell us what is your typical day at work here?
A: I start my day by seeing numbers. I will see the marketing performance, starting from the digital part. Then I see the sales figures, and how we are catching up with the business performance on a day-to-day basis. After that, I oversee our clientele from the operational side, before finally meeting with my team. I usually continue the day by having a small briefing with the team about ongoing projects and campaigns that had to be implemented. Lastly, I need to have my own session with my sales team, how they are doing with their accounts.
Q: Can you share with us what is the biggest challenge from your job?
A: Ever since the pandemic, the overall industry is impacted. The landscape is different now than it was back then – it’s more dynamic. So, I always try to see the changes shifting in our market. Incidentally, there’s also shifting in the technology side as well. It’s more agile nowadays, so we need to update and align ourselves with the development.
Q: I know you’ve mentioned this earlier, but can you elaborate more about what do you find most satisfying from your job?
A: As a sales person, especially the sales and marketing leader, definitely it’s numbers. I need to deliver good results to my owners, while also pushing myself to bring satisfaction for our clientele and guests. The good thing is, those can actually be measured, figures that I can take responsibility for. As for ensuring guests give us top ratings, we always monitor the feedback surveys on multiple platforms.
