After turning heads with its opening in September 2021, The Langham, Jakarta proudly announced the appointment of seasoned hotelier Alexander Poindl as the general manager. Hailing all the way from Austria, Alex first kick-started his hospitality career while he was still completing his Master’s degree in hospitality administration/management at the University of Economics in Vienna. His prestigious stint as hotel general manager started in 1999, and he’s been working in prominent cities like Vienna, Bali and Jakarta ever since. His introduction to Indonesia was in 2009 when he managed a hotel in Bogor and was enchanted by the country.
As the General Manager of The Langham, Jakarta, Alex is thrilled to make the most of his experience and expertise and lead his team to bring exceptional services. Meticulous attention to detail is paramount in Alex’s work book, as he wants to ensure that each and every one of his colleagues is empowered to deliver personalised service and ensure wonderful and unforgettable experiences for the guests.
