A Luxurious Heritage
Located in the prestigious Menteng district of central Jakarta, The Hermitage hotel was officially opened by the (Plt) Governor of DKI Jakarta on June 5th 2014, and it has since become one of the city’s most luxurious heritage hotels. As a member of The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd (LHW), and managed by GLA Hotels, a Paris-based operator founded by the grand dame of boutique hospitality, Grace Leo, the opulent rooms and suites are totally unique and extremely high-end.
Executive Chef Guillermo Varela Mata heads the hotel’s main restaurant, L’Avenue, and invites diners to experience his interpretation of French cuisine using traditional Indonesian ingredients and molecular techniques. Langouste Grillée, a grilled lobster with black risotto and coconut lemongrass foam, and Soufflé aux Agrumes, a delectable citrus soufflé with mandarin granita, yuzu gel and orange biscotti, are two of the famous signature dishes. Adorned with Carrera marble, colonial-era artwork and rich veneers, L’Avenue is a chic ethno-brasserie with true French flair. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant features three dining areas and a mercury-glass adorned private dining room with its own terrace.
Meanwhile, The Hermitage’s Courtyard Café is a cool al fresco dining spot for light fare, patisseries and cocktails, centrally located on the ground floor. Much like an oasis, the Courtyard Café’s muted rattan furnishings, generous umbrellas and luxury greenery afford a truly pleasant venue for relaxed elegance. Highlights include the crab croquettes with chilli caramel, the hotel’s signature club sandwich with coconut and ginger grilled chickens as well as Indonesian delicacies such as pisang goreng, which shares the sweet spotlight with couture éclairs and macarons.
Malt and cigar aficionados will be spoilt for choice at Hermitage Lounge. The atmospheric and elegant lounge is the indoor all-day venue for casual bites, while in the evening, the Bar, Wine and Cigar Room indulges patrons with decadent single malts and premium cigars. Rich wood paneling, sumptuous leather sofas and an oversized wine cave create an intimate and inviting setting for unwinding after a day of meetings or retail therapy.
