Gran Meliá Jakarta welcomes the arrival of the Year of the Ox on 12 February with an array of special festive offerings and invites guests to ring in a new and prosperous year by enjoying a range of dining indulgences, overflowing with the tastes of the Orient. The celebrations start with tossing Yu Shang for good fortune.
At the heart of the celebrations, the hotel’s Cantonese and Chinese specialty restaurant, Tien Chao, will prepare culinary delights in honour of the festivities. From 9 to 14 February, from 12pm to 8pm, guests are invited to feast on traditional Chinese set menus inclusive of salmon Yu Shang, braised shredded seafood soup, crispy chicken with sesame seed, deep fried king prawn in spicy salt, braised sea cucumber and pipa tofu with dried oyster, black moss and green vegetables, steamed live sea grouper with Hong Kong-style sauce, fried rice seafood X.O. in lotus leaf, sweet red bean and lotus seed soup served with deep fried Chinese New Year’s pancake.
Café Gran Via also open its doors for the celebration, serving a selection of international dishes and festive dishes for dinner on 11 February and brunch from 12 to 14 February.
For guests who prefer to enjoy the Chinese New Year in the comfort of their own home, Tien Chao will prepare signature Chinese New Year delicacies to take away. Options include signature Nian Gao Hampers that are ready to be presented to friends, colleagues and loved ones, and salmon Yu Shang in two sizes. These special offerings are available from 11 January to 19 February 2021.
