The new, dust- and water-resistant, iPhone 7 features an all-new camera, its most powerful processor to date, stereo sound, Retina HD display and iPhone’s best ever battery life.
Design
The 7 and 7 Plus feature smoother lines achieved by having the antenna inside, a flat, force sensitive, home button and the removal of the headphone jack. There are two new black finishes to complement the existing silver, gold and rose gold of the iPhone 6. For sound, its uses EarPods or wireless AirPods, designed to offer crystal-clear sound without the traditional wired restrictions. In fact the 7 offers improvements throughout from better connectivity to the stereo output. Dust- and water-resistant to IP67, it’s able to withstand being submerged in 1m of static water for up to 30 minutes.
Camera
To its new wide colour capture lens and QUAD-LED True Tone Flash, the latest iPhone adds optical image stabilisation and a six-element high-speed F1.8 aperture lens. Low-light shots are sharper and brighter. The 12mp camera has 4K video recording plus a 7mp front-facing HD FaceTime camera. The iPhone 7 Plus has a second, telephoto camera, located alongside the first for even higher-quality zoom.
Display
The Retina HD display provides true to life colours backed by arguably the best colour management in the smartphone industry, meaning photos, videos and even FaceTime are more realistic than ever.
