Aulianty Fellina Rizal Senior Director of Marketing Communications & Public Relations at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort

Aulianty Fellina Rizal

Q: Can you share more about your upbringing and how it shaped your passion for marketing and public relations?
A: I grew up in a family that valued communication and storytelling deeply. From a young age, I was encouraged to express myself clearly through writing, speaking and engaging with people from various backgrounds. This foundation helped me develop a keen understanding of how important it is to connect with an audience, whether you’re sharing a message or building a relationship.

Q: Reflecting on your 23-year career in the hospitality industry, what do you consider your proudest achievement so far?
A: One of my proudest moments has been witnessing the long-term results of the relationships I’ve built with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The ability to influence perceptions and change the narrative around a brand, while always staying true to its core values, has been incredibly rewarding.

Ultimately, the most fulfilling part of my career has been the opportunity to mentor and guide others. It’s inspiring to watch them grow, and I take great pride in knowing I contributed to their journey.

Q: How has your approach to marketing and PR evolved over the years, especially with the rise of digital platforms?
A: The emergence of social media, influencer marketing and real-time communication has drastically transformed how we connect with guests. Social media platforms provide a direct line to our audience, allowing for immediate feedback, engagement and personalisation. This opportunity enables us to listen, learn and respond in real time, creating a more interactive relationship with our guests. Additionally, we utilise data analytics to better understand our audience’s preferences, which allows us to tailor our campaigns more effectively and make informed decisions.

While digital tools have transformed our approach to marketing and public relations, I have always emphasised the importance of balancing technology with a human touch. Even in today’s digital world, the core of our work revolves around building trust and meaningful relationships.

Q: What advice would you give to young professionals aspiring to a career in hospitality marketing?
A: Stay curious, adaptable and committed to continuous learning. Focus on building strong relationships with your team and stakeholders, as collaboration and communication are essential in this field. Most importantly, remain true to the brand’s values and prioritise creating authentic, memorable experiences for guests.
