After its impressive debut last year, Art Basel is coming back to Hong Kong for a second round. Art Basel was founded by three Basel gallerists named Trudi Bruckner, Balz Hilt and Ernst Beyeler in 1970. Now the international showcase of modern and contemporary art is held annually in Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong. This major event is important to connect art collectors, artists, dealers, curators, critics and art lovers from around the world. With half of the participating galleries coming from Asia and Asia-Pacific, Art Basel in Hong Kong will display the highest quality of paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs and video made by more than 2,000 artists from Asia and around the globe. The show will also offer extensive opportunities for intellectual discovery through discussions and presentations, creating a platform of cross-cultural exchanges for artists, gallerists, collectors and visitors.
