Q: How would you describe your responsibilities?
A: The ever-changing and evolving role of the “mother” of House of Karma!
Q: What makes a typical day in your line of work?
A: Since our launch, no day has looked the same. I try to keep some consistency in my routine by starting every morning with some movement, journaling and big breakfast, but then it could be anything from site visits and meetings, to building out marketing strategies.
Q: What does your day off look like?
A: I’m guilty of working through my days off! My ideal day off starts with a walk in nature, a boxing class or a massage, followed by a trip to local markets or a brunch. I’m a very social person, so I usually want my weekends to involve catching up with as many people as possible!
Q: What do you find most satisfying in your job?
A: Nothing brings me more joy than hosting one of our member events and seeing strangers end the experience as friends. As I’ve mentioned, I’m all about social connection, so building an authentic community within the House of Karma is my number one priority, and so far, I’m proud to say we’ve been doing just that!
Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your career?
A: I’d have to say my father, who started Karma Group over 30 years ago. He instilled an entrepreneurial streak in me from an early age, and his ethos of Karma acting more as an entertainment industry than a hospitality group has hugely shaped how I run House of Karma. Working alongside and learning from him is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
Q: Name one really special thing about House of Karma.
A: It’s a real hybrid between a member’s collective and a travel club. Want to meet like-minded people through out-of-the-box events in your home city? We’ve got you covered. With everything from wellness retreats in Bali to boat parties on the Nile, the sky is the limit with a House of Karma membership.
Q: Tell us something about you that most people don’t know.
A: I think it surprises people to find out that I have a side hustle business as DJ Atomic Blonde! As I’ve said, Karma is more of an entertainment industry than anything else, and that’s an ethos I like to live by personally too – you’ll often find me behind the decks playing house music
Q: If you had not taken this career path, what would you have chosen?
A: Aside from DJing, I spent a few years training in musical theatre back in the UK, and it was once my ultimate dream to be an actor. But honestly, I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at now. House of Karma allows me to curate a community of multi-faceted people just like me and plan some unforgettable experiences for us all along the way.
