A: Having worked in the hospitality sector for more than 25 years, I can say that it has been quite a journey! Seeing the industry evolve and being part of that transformation has been incredibly rewarding.

Q: What do you love the most about working in hospitality, especially the marketing side?
A: It is never boring. My creativity is constantly challenged, and I stay on top of the latest trends. I get to infuse my taste into our projects, plan for the future and meet amazing people along the way. It is an exciting and dynamic journey that makes me happy every day!
Q: What is the most valuable lesson that you’ve learnt working as a hotelier?
A: The most valuable lesson I’ve learnt is to treat everyone with respect. You never know when you’ll cross paths with someone again. It’s essential to have a genuine desire to serve, always put yourself in the guest’s shoes to enhance their experience and embrace change.
Q: If you hadn’t become a senior director of marketing communications, what path would you have chosen?
A: I would have pursued a path as a wellness expert. I find this field rewarding and a great investment in the future. I also imagine owning a business focused on floristry, gardening and pets.
Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your career?
A: My late grandmother was the most influential person in my career. Growing up, I admired her dedication as a working mother of seven. Her passion for her work, her ability to balance personal time with cooking, gardening, and socialising and her commitment to her church and physical health were truly inspiring.
Q: What does your day off look like?
A: I love weekends! I start by dancing on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I then spend quality time with my husband and youngest son. I love to squeeze in some pampering time in the afternoon, whether it’s a relaxing nap, a massage, or getting my hair or nails done, and I wrap up the day with a heartfelt video call to my oldest son, who is in Jakarta.
