Internationally acclaimed and with more than 100 outlets all around the world, Benihana is now re-opening in Grand Indonesia Shopping Town with a new concept, interior and menus.
Those who really crave Japanese food can have it all here, plus entertainment. This modern authentic Japanese restaurant, similar to the other Benihana restaurants around the world, is famous for the teppanyaki. There are many choices on the menu, though it’s best to stick to teppanyaki specialties, which include beef ranging from Black Angus to Wagyu, seafood including shrimps, scallops, salmon, lobster and the rare teppanyaki ingredient of black cod.
For those of you who are not familiar with it, teppanyaki is derived from the word teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried.
Teppanyaki chefs are well known for their entertainment value, taking a position behind the grill and bowing to the customers sitting around the table. The chef then demonstrates his theatrical cooking technique, superbly slicing, dicing and juggling utensils. Shrimp tails are flipped, eggs are tossed, and the famous flaming onion volcanoes erupt – indeed a spectacle in itself. This is all part of the new concept of “eatertainment” from Benihana.
Other dishes on the menu including udon noodle teppanyaki, zen, agemono, hot rice dishes, yakimono, sushi, and sashimi.
Besides serving all kinds of Japanese cuisine, the restaurant, which occupies 1,400 sq.m., is also adorned with Japanese decor. The new concept also features a bar and lounge area that opens until midnight and serves many kinds of beverage.
In Benihana, you not only come-eat-go, but share the fun with everyone, but most of all, share the great tasting teppanyaki dishes.
