These innovations manifest prominently in the vehicle’s latest-generation iDrive control system, highly efficient energy management and groundbreaking driver assistance systems.
As a modern Sports Activity Vehicle, the BMW iX exudes intelligence and a design that seamlessly blends comfort, spaciousness and minimalist luxury in its interior. It upholds BMW’s stringent sustainability standards throughout its concept, materials selection, raw material extraction and production processes. In Indonesia, the BMW iX xDrive40 variant, with over 326hp output, can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 6.1 seconds, offering both power and eco-consciousness.
Innovatively, the electric motor in the BMW iX is designed without relying on rare materials. Operating on the principle of current-excited synchronous motors, the motor’s rotor excitation is powered by electricity, eliminating the need for materials used in traditional permanent magnets.
Efficiency is paramount in the BMW iX, thanks to a highly integrated drive system that optimises aerodynamics and lightweight design. The vehicle’s average electric power consumption is under 20 kWh per 100 kilometres. The BMW iX benefits from the fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, offering a battery with increased energy density, delivering a WLTP-calculated range of up to 420 kilometres.
Charging is a breeze with the BMW iX, capable of recharging high-voltage batteries at up to 200 kW, providing over 90 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes. The high-voltage battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in less than 34 minutes.
Additionally, the BMW iX introduces a new technology toolkit for automated driving and digital services, capable of processing 20 times more data than previous models, enhancing the vehicle’s sensor capabilities.
