The most established International Baccalaureate school in Bali, Bali Island School, introduces a new face and shares positive achievements.
Bali Island School (BIS) proudly announces that the 2021-2022 academic year has wrapped up brilliantly. In August 2022, over 113,000 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) students around the globe received their IBDP results from the May 2022 exam. All the students of the Class of 2022 at BIS got strong IBDP results with an average of 34.18 points, and more importantly, 100 percent passing rate. The highest achieving student of the year earned 45 points, which is the highest IB score.
The school also introduces Mike Miller as the new school principal. With a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership and Management, Miller brings along with him his years of experience in the educational sector. Previously, Miller was the deputy head of International Schools of North America in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, before joining BIS and taking on important roles like the Experienced IB Workshop Leader (for Heads of School and IB Coordinators), IB School Visiting Team Member for Verification and Evaluation Visits, and Experienced CIS Visiting School Accreditation Team Member.
“As incoming Principal at Bali Island School, I was suitably impressed with the recent IBDP results that BIS students gained. However, let’s not lose sight of the important life skills, attitudes and aptitudes that students acquire during their primary and secondary school journeys. So, let’s celebrate all students’ achievements, irrespective of their final grade. Kudos to Klaus Weber, DPC at BIS, all the DP staff, and especially to all the students at BIS for exhibiting true grit and determination,” said Miller.
