It was delightful to see Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi continue their sharp-as-ever imagination at work. Yes, there was energy in their movement, but it was more the masterful construction that stood out. A fresh take on the classic Fendi style with light fabrics, 3D motifs and flower inspiration. Through it, Fendi’s technical mastery provided a stylish athleticism; each of these pieces was cut to move, and move fast, suggesting that ultraluxe sportiness is indeed becoming a house hallmark.
The Fendi Resort 2015 collection has a creative 70s silhouette and colourful, graphic prints on cotton and mesh tops, silk mini and maxi dresses, jogging and culotte pants, plus patchwork biker jackets. The mesh fabric pulls the look together, and it definitely touches on what’s trending in ready-to-wear collections.
