Framing Emotion Through the Lens

Deny Setiawan, also known as Deny Mirrorcle, began his journey as a professional photographer in 2010. He found his initial inspiration in the work of Thai-born photographer AnLe. His passion for drawing naturally transitioned into photography, providing him with a new medium to express his creativity.

Deny’s signature style focuses on capturing the mood of his subject. He skilfully plays with composition, design and colour to evoke emotion and tell a compelling visual story.

Although his expertise lies in fashion photography, one of his biggest challenges came when he was commissioned to shoot for a beauty brand. The intricate details required in beauty and skincare photography pushed him out of his comfort zone, ultimately honing his technical skills and expanding his artistic capabilities.

In a constantly evolving industry influenced by technological advancements, Deny embraces learning as a lifelong process. His advice for aspiring photographers is never to stop exploring and expanding your visual references. “Photography is a journey,” he shares. “Staying curious, continuously learning and pushing your creative boundaries will help you uncover deeper insights.”

After more than a decade in the industry, Deny Setiawan continues to evolve, proving that passion and perseverance are key for making an impact in the world of photography. His dedication to refining his craft ensures that his work remains relevant and impactful, serving as an inspiration for those looking to carve their own path in the creative industry.
