BEAUTY REBORN
AS THE SAYING GOES, “WHAT’S IN A NAME?”. HOWEVER, THE REBRANDING OF GRAND ASTON BALI BEACH RESORT WHICH WAS ONCE ASTON BALI BEACH RESORT & SPA, PROVES THAT A MORE UPSCALE NAME CAN BRING WITH IT AN EQUALLY BEFITTING EXPERIENCE.
Fiercely committed to elevating each guests’ getaway, the recent makeover of the Grand Aston Bali Beach Resort marks the ongoing efforts made by the hotel’s management, Archipelago International, to improve the resort’s accommodations, facilities and overall guest experience.
The transformation can even be seen from Tanjung Benoa’s buzzing Jalan Pratama, where the palatial grounds of the grand resort beckon with majestic columns, towering palms and the unmissable Aston marquee. The revamped entranceway showcases regal yet modern archways peppered with natural materials and manicured greenery. Guests are welcomed by smiling hosts and an impressive lobby, decorated in hues of gold and creamy marbles, punctuated by rich mahoganies and concrete carvings.
The lobby area then opens up to a breathtaking view of the Nusa Dua seascape and the arc of rooms and suites that are specifically positioned to soak up the vista. The most popular accommodation type is the Deluxe Room, and thanks to the resort’s grand rebranding, the rooms have been revamped from previously bold and sultry interiors to bright and stylish havens of sophistication. Deluxe Rooms boast stunning views across the Grand Aston gardens and pool area, shaded by tropical flora and swaying palms. The resort has also upgraded their sweeping Deluxe Ocean Front Suite that capture the green panorama as well as an unrivalled front-on view of the Indian Ocean.
The Deluxe Ocean Front Suites are bright and spacious, reminiscent of a stylish Singaporean apartment that has been subtly brushed with Balinese beauty. For example, a Balinese mural of a silhouetted temple is carved out of light wood, disguised by its match to the modern hardwood flooring. This design continues to the open plan living area which is awash with bright and creamy colours and swanky lolling spaces. At first glance, a black and white canvas accents the art deco feel, yet a second look confirms the picture is a photograph of Balinese women in their ceremonial dresses. The suite is an ideal mixture of comfort, ethnic charm and luxury.
As might be expected, a Deluxe Ocean Front Suite wouldn’t be complete without all of the mod-cons, so Grand Aston has fitted the open plan bedroom with an impressive projector screen at the foot of the bed. But of course, there is always the natural spectacle awaiting behind it, so if you choose, you can roll up the screen and instead enjoy the blissful sight of lapping waves against the brilliant white Nusa Dua sands. This breathtaking view extends to the stunning bathroom, where a sunken bathtub soaks up the glistening vista while you soak in absolute luxury.
And to ensure mums and dads get as much of this me-time as desired, the resort now hosts a colourful beachfront kids club to accompany the resort’s plethora of recreational facilities. Youngsters between the ages of 4 and 12 can enjoy the kitted out club complete with flat screen TVs, Playstation gaming consoles, a foosball table and a wide array of kiddie toys. There is also additional outdoor playtime furniture and exciting kids activities available throughout the day. From sand castle making and Indonesian lessons, to board games, origami and canvas painting; the resort’s experienced kids club attendants are on hand to stimulate your little ones whilst you lap up the gorgeous Bali sun.
