Q: Can you summarise your journey so far in the hospitality industry?
A: I have had a career spanning over two decades, with more than half of that time spent as an team member of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group in Indonesia. My wonderful journey includes a 12-year tenure at Pan Pacific Hotel Group before transitioning to perform the same role at one of the Hyatt properties in Indonesia and back to Pan Pacific Hotel Group last year.
Q: What are your responsibilities?
A: I oversee the commercial team, ensuring a well-rounded focus on revenue, sales and marketing initiatives. It’s my responsibility to ensure that our strategies in these key areas are aligned and optimised to drive business growth and maximise profitability. By coordinating efforts across revenue, sales and marketing, we can effectively identify opportunities, develop targeted campaigns and enhance customer engagement to achieve our business objectives.
Q: What attracts you to the hospitality industry?
A: Firstly, I found that working in hotels carries a certain prestige and allure. The opportunity to be part of an industry that caters to people’s needs, providing memorable experiences and exceptional service, is truly rewarding. Moreover, my father’s longstanding career in the hospitality industry has been a significant influence on me. Seeing his dedication and passion for his work has instilled in me a deep appreciation for this field. I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact that hospitality professionals can have on guests’ lives, and I’m inspired to follow in my father’s footsteps and contribute to this dynamic and fulfilling industry.
Q: Name one special thing about each of the properties you oversee.
A: Nestled within the towering skyline of Jakarta, Luminary Tower at Thamrin Nine, we will proudly host three renowned hotel brands. Each brand will embody its unique positioning, collectively shaping the future of upscale and luxury hospitality in the city. With their distinct offerings and premium experiences, these brands are set to redefine the standards of excellence in Jakarta’s hotel industry.
Q: Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know.
A: I’m deeply rooted in family values, and my parents have been the most influential figures in my life. Despite their busy work schedules, they always made time for me since I was young. Family time was abundant – whether it was before or after work, or during weekends. Through their example, I’ve learned the paramount importance of family and the nurturing care essential for personal fulfilment. Their guidance has shaped me into a well-rounded and content individual.
