On 5th August, a very special culinary evening was held at The Legian Bali in celebration of its 20th anniversary. To mark the momentous occasion, an exceptional and exclusive four-hands dinner was dished up at the resort’s signature dining destination, The Restaurant, following a glamorous sunset cocktail soiree beside the Seminyak beachfront.
The celebration was attended by Bali’s finest fashionistas, foodies and hotel guests as Champagne flowed and as canapés drifted amongst the crowd. The collaborative four-hands, wine-paired dinner was then expertly served by Daniel Sia, founder and executive chef of Singapore’s The Disgruntled Chef, and the resort’s own executive chef, Luke MacLeod.
Sharing a penchant for premium quality ingredients obtained from ethical sources, the two chefs dished up an extravagant seven-course dinner matched with specially selected premium wines. Highlights included the roasted whole foie gras with an oxtail and truffle consommé paired with a sparkling MV Bruno Paillard, braised veal cheek with Asian spices and a 2012 Chateuneuf de Pape and, for dessert, a coconut semi-fredo with green chilli and a slightly sweet glass of Italian Picolit to round off the gastronomically indulgent evening.
