Foodies and connoisseurs of Indonesian cuisine alike will be delighted to know that The Westin Jakarta has launched its exciting Jelajah Indonesia series held at Seasonal Taste, its all-day dining restaurant.
Ayo Makan, the first of the three-part series commenced in the month of August. It featured a specially curated menu of modern Indonesian dishes, the fruit of collaboration between the famed local culinary authority Chef Ragil Imam Wibowo of NUSA Indonesian Gastronomy and the talented and inventive Chef Denny Boy Gunawan, The Westin Jakarta’s Executive Sous Chef. The highlights included unique dishes such as the beef-carving bumbu rembige, twists of classics such as the ayam tangkap Aceh, as well as wonderfully playful sweets such as the bubur sumsum brûlée. The full breadth of Chef Denny’s interpretation of progressive Sundanese cuisine was showcased in the dishes that guests enjoyed during lunch and dinner services from 20th to 29th July. Honoured guests also enjoyed the exclusive Terang Bulan Gastronomy on 20th July at Wayra rooftop at the breathtaking level 67, pairing five lovely courses with the magnificent full moon.
Readers who missed the first part of the Jelajah Indonesia series need not fear as the second part of the series – Street Food Master – will be held in September, showcasing Indonesia’s most legendary street food vendors. The series will conclude in November with Local Artisans, including Indonesia’s finest chocolate makers and coffee roasters.
