Expertly crafted to offer one-off experiences to its guests, Aman is offering the chance to embark on an exclusive luxury train ride through Java with Amanjiwo as the final destination.
Dubbed the cultural heartland of Indonesia, Java is studded with ancient treasures, pea-green paddy fields and rainforests lining pristine white beaches. The capital, Jakarta, buzzes with modern dynamism, while overlooking the Unesco-protected Borobudur temple, Amanjiwo awaits. Always on-hand to create memorable experiences, Aman is working closely with luxury rail operator PT Kereta Api Pariwisata to introduce a new journey on selected dates from 10 December 2020.
With dedicated carriages adorned in the Aman style, the journey is designed to offer timeless elegance in the utmost comfort. Taking guests across Java, the journey starts at Jakarta Gambir station. After a warm Javanese welcome into the station’s exclusive lounge, enjoy a seven-hour scenic journey through Central Java, where temples turn to tree-lined hillsides.
On board, guests travel in style, with breakfast and lunch served alongside complimentary alcoholic drinks. Amanjiwo’s resident anthropologist, Patrick Vanhoebrouck, will share his knowledge of the region’s historical and cultural highlights. After arriving at Yogyakarta’s Tugu station, you will be whisked on a comfortable 60-minute ride to Amanjiwo.
With three nights to experience Amanjiwo, guests can fully immerse themselves in Amanjiwo’s sacred roots. Just two kilometres away, Borobudur temple reveals ancient secrets, while trekking through the lush surrounding landscapes to local villages will unearth an entirely new way of life. During your stay at Amanjiwo, enjoy daily breakfast and one memorable Amanjiwo experience. Choose from a traditional Makan Malam degustation dinner served in the grand colonial restaurant, a private Aman picnic on the banks of the Progo River or enjoy sunset martinis overlooking the dramatic vistas.
The Journey Through Java is available from 10 to 13 December and 24 to 27 December, continuing twice monthly on selected dates throughout 2021.
