On 29th July, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place invited esteemed guests and privileged friends of the hotel to embark on a journey to savour the decadent flavours of South America with Chef Cris Encina of Pica, Ubud, in an event called Sabor Latino, or Latin Flavours. Following a hearty gathering in the sixth floor Pacific Restaurant & Lounge, guests were allowed into a neatly rearranged main dining area that was the centre-stage of the delightful dinner event. The six-course set menu was paired with selected premium wines from Chile and Argentina, which delivered a sensational all-round dining experience. The meal featured masterfully prepared South American signature dishes with premium ingredients and immaculate presentation, including fresh ceviche, grilled octopus, causa de camarones, fish and clams cau cau, tres leches and picarones.
Also making a special appearance for the evening was the Peruvian Pisco, an alcoholic beverage derived from a variety of grape aguardiente unique to Peru, dating back all the way to the late 16th century. Pisco production is limited to certain areas and its unique flavours have made it very popular among those looking to enjoy a particular piece of Latin charm through this one-of-a-kind beverage.
