Shaun Dünhofen, the regional general manager of Karma Resorts Bali, was appointed as the new chairman of the Bali Hotels Association (BHA) last December, marking a significant milestone for the organisation. Dünhofen, known for his exceptional leadership skills and unwavering commitment to sustainability and community engagement, is set to redefine the role of BHA on the enchanting island of Bali.
Along with Franklyn Kocek, the general manager of The Stones Hotel – Legian Bali, Autograph Collection as the vice chairman, the newly-appointed leaders aim to continue the group’s impactful work in 2024, fostering connections among its members and contributing positively to the Bali community. The association proudly reported that its members’ sustainability practices diverted over 31,000kg of food waste, resulting in 133,000 meals served to the local community in 2023.
Dünhofen is no stranger to accolades for his sustainable initiatives and community engagement efforts. Under his leadership at Karma Resorts Bali, the resort has become synonymous with eco-friendly practices and responsible tourism. Dünhofen’s approach integrates luxurious hospitality with environmental consciousness, setting a new standard for the industry.
“It is a privilege and an honour to be elected as the chairman of the Bali Hotels Association for 2024. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our community and charities to make a positive impact on our island,” said Dünhofen.
