Indonesian multi-faceted figure Luna Maya discusses the challenges she faces in juggling her complex roles as a model, actress and entrepreneur in the highly competitive beauty industry. With a clear vision and unwavering dedication, this dynamic woman is driven to leave a lasting legacy in Indonesian entertainment.
Q: You’ve had a successful career as a model and media personality. What inspired you to transition into the skincare industry and create NAMA Beauty?
A: As an actress, model and woman, I have always been passionate about skincare and makeup. They are a big part of my daily routine, where I use them daily. You always want to look your best and maintain a youthful appearance when you’re in front of the camera or the public eye. That love for skincare and makeup is one of the main reasons I decided to start my own skincare business.
Q: How do you balance your demanding career as a model and media personality with the responsibilities of running a successful skincare business? What strategies do you use to manage your time effectively?
A: Balancing a demanding career in modelling and media can be quite challenging. I’m constantly juggling multiple schedules and commitments. But, honestly, tools like Google Calendar have been a lifesaver, helping me stay organised and make it all work. It’s about setting a priority scale and deciding which tasks or projects are most important and which can take a back seat. That way, I can manage my time effectively and focus on what truly matters.
Q: What are your long-term goals for your career? Do you see yourself expanding into other industries or focusing more on your skincare business?
A: I aim for NAMA to become one of the leading celebrity cosmetic brands, standing strong among the biggest names in the beauty industry. I truly want NAMA to be recognised as a top-tier brand. Hopefully, we can achieve that and make it happen. My vision is for NAMA to become a top-of-mind choice soon, and I’m optimistic that we’ll get there.
Q: Looking back on your career, what do you hope your legacy will be? What impact do you want to make on the world, both in the entertainment and skincare industries?
A: Looking back on my career, I would love to become one of the icons of the Indonesian entertainment industry. I want to inspire people to believe they can be anything they want, achieve success and create something that can change the game.
I want to inspire others and be a source of motivation for them. I hope to leave a lasting impression in their hearts and minds. That would be my legacy.
