A MACA Villa
Stepping inside the open plan two-bedroom deluxe pool villa, I am greeted by a spacious living and dining area that doesn’t feel like it’s inside at all. Totally encircled by glass, every room looks right out to the pool area, making the private lap pool and timbered sun deck even harder to resist. On the deck, gorgeous loungers make for the perfect lolling spaces under the warm Bali sun, complete with a Bale pavilion and daybed that looks like it floats over the shimmering pool.
Back inside and the villa is stylishly presented in a contemporary Balinese design. Chic yet understated interiors are inviting and comfortable, with natural finishes of light woods and plenty of sunlight. Tastefully capturing Bali’s relaxed and welcoming sensibilities, high ceilings and organic structural materials meet customised furnishings, while Bali-inspired pieces of contemporary art uniquely balance the Balinese aesthetics with ultra-contemporary designs.
Into the deluxe bedroom and a gorgeous king sized bed looks directly out to that eye-catching deck. Beautifully designed, the room also features an LCD flat screen TV with a digital entertainment system packed full of music, movies, cable TV and an iPod docking station to hook up to your favourite tunes. The en-suite bathroom sees a spa-inspired design with a couple-friendly rainforest shower and a stunning stand-alone bathtub which even comes equipped with another LCD flat screen TV for bath-time viewing.
The Resort
Away from the stylish abodes and the resort itself features a 20m freeform pool with a cascading waterfall and sun deck. To fill your days with memorable activities, the resort also provides mountain bike rental and yoga classes. Or if you just want to totally chill out, MACA SPA can pamper you from head to toe with Asian-derived body and beauty rituals including chakra therapy.
There is also the famed MASE Kitchen and Bar “fun diner” serving up gourmet style food and beverages in a relaxed-chic environment reminiscent of a wine bar. Headed up by a French chef, MASE Kitchen and Bar serves up international cuisine using organic produce, fresh herbs, spices and quality imported meats. Glass-enclosed and fully air-conditioned, the restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner of gastronomic delights and fine wines. Think Coffin Bay oysters and Escargot Mille Feuille, beautifully executed and accompanied by a superb range of vinos and cocktails. They also serve up their “Ippolito” coffee, freshly roasted, ground and brewed on-site to ensure premium quality.
