Mamaka by Ovolo’s ‘Miles for Smiles’ 5K Charity Fun Run gathered 500 participants and raising over IDR363 million for the Bali Children Foundation to support children’s education at SDN 3 Sidetapa in North Bali.
Mamaka by Ovolo’s fourth annual ‘Miles for Smiles’ 5K Charity Fun Run gathered an impressive 500 participants at sunrise in Kuta, doubling the expected turnout, to run for a meaningful cause. Locals, tourists and community members from across Bali and beyond joined forces, raising over IDR363 million (AUD$35,000), exceeding expectations to support the Bali Children Foundation’s educational initiatives in North Bali.
The run kicked off at 6am in front of Mamaka by Ovolo on Jalan Pantai Kuta, with participants energised to embark on the scenic 5K run through the vibrant streets of Kuta and Legian. Every step contributed to Mamaka’s mission of funding better educational programmes, fostering brighter futures for North Bali’s children. This year’s contributions will fund scholarships, supporting classroom upgrades, learning materials and other educational needs to students at SDN 3 Sidetapa, helping to create a lasting impact.
Part of Ovolo Hotels’ broader Ovo-Walk initiative, this event reflects the company’s commitment to supporting children’s education across Southeast Asia and Australia.
The race concluded at the iconic Kuta Beach, where top male and female runners were awarded prizes, including a Bali-Australia return ticket for one person, a 1-night stay at Mamaka by Ovolo and restaurant vouchers. This year’s fun run once again demonstrated the power of community spirit and the shared goal of making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
