The sequel to Pacific Rim and set in the year 2035, Uprising takes place 10 years after the destruction of the Breach. John Boyega plays the rebellious Jake Pentecost whose father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the Kaiju. Jake has become entangled with the criminal underworld, but when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed he is given a chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) who seeks to lead a global uprising against the forces of extinction.
