Saint Laurent Creative Director Hedi Slimane unleashed his grunge-inspired vision for fall down the runway in Milan, as former Yves Saint Laurent it-girl, French actress Catherine Deneuve, watched in amusement from the front row. Shaggy-haired girls stomped by wearing hobnailed boots, barely there dresses, schoolgirl-style mini-dresses, plunging tops and evening dresses in chiffon and glittering tulle that Yves himself loved to use in the seventies and eighties. Street-smart accessories stole the show including vampy fishnet tights and chunky, black stretch-leather ankle boots. A dash of old-school sophistication was thrown in for his more conservative followers with toggle-adorned pea coats; black felt trench coats, knee-length leather trench coats and high-waisted mini skirts.
