The story of Sate Khas Senayan started 40 years ago, when Sari Rasa Nusantara group opened their first eatery in the elite area of Jalan Pakubuwono, Jakarta. Consistently providing uniquely Indonesian tastes elevated to international standards, the restaurant’s signature satay and peanut sauce is widely known as one of the best traditional dishes of its kind found in any modern establishment today.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Sate Khas Senayan is bringing some exciting new variations to its signature dishes, such as Chicken Satay with Blora Sauce, which is essentially spicier and richer in taste than the regular peanut sauce served. This new satay also tastes crisper and somewhat more barbecuey. The new Blora Sauce is available for both Chicken Satay and Chicken Skin satay.
Another new addition to the menu is the Fried Chicken Wings with Shrimp Paste, offering traditional Indonesian spiciness and warmth from the shrimp paste to a globally well-liked chicken wings appetizer menu. This is a mildly spicy dish that warms up your palate before you take on bigger entrées, such as the satay.
The new Stir Fried String Beans with Shrimp Paste Sauce is a spicy dish that reflects even more of Indonesia’s traditional culinary ways. With just the right amount of spice and chilli, seeing the slightly faded bright green texture of this vegetable as it melds with the homemade paste is simply arousing. The frying is timed just right to preserve the right crunchiness and pleasing aroma.
For dessert, Sate Khas Senayan offers a range of coconut-based beverages mixed and served right inside the fruit, such as Iced Coconut and Orange, Iced Coconut with Noodle Jelly and Durian, Iced Coconut with Green Fermented Cassava, and Coconut Sekoteng, which is a warm soup of ginger, bread, peanuts, green beans, barley, and roasted peanuts. Whichever you choose, any one of these will provide the perfect closure of sweetness to your dining experience.
With these new cuisines, Sate Khas Senayan continues to serve modern yet characteristically Indonesian cuisine set in more than 30 venues and outlets that promote Indonesian cultural values in design. The timeless tradition, celebrated and admired in many parts of the region, is elevated by the utilization of modern cooking technology and presentation, as well as a serving standard that reflects the fabled Eastern hospitality.
