With seven individually designed, five bedroom bespoke villas, in-villa weddings are a popular choice at Semara. Every villa has its own personal chef and butler so that you barely have to lift a finger, and each one is a peaceful sanctuary of grandeur. They are carefully arranged so that each one overlooks the magnificent aquatic horizon, yet they are all uniquely designed so each one holds a different character and a different vibe than the next. One of the most ideal venues for this setup is Villa Tamarama, reminiscent of a colonial-style mansion that you could imagine in the Caribbean or the Hamptons. With its white, elegant decor, the sweeping villa is ideal for a traditional wedding ceremony. It has a long aisle that glides between manicured gardens and the glittering pool, drifting down to an open air pavilion that is dressed like a romantic wedding chapel. The pavilion and the gardens stand high above the ocean, dramatically resting on the cliff’s edge for picture-perfect moments above the rocky crags.
Back to the main area of the house, an oversized poolside bar and cocktail area make for an ideal spot to host pre-dinner cocktails and canapés or a swanky after-party. With high ceilings, grand furnishings and a breezy al fresco feel to soak up the panorama, you get the traditional feel of a chic ballroom yet the benefits of being able to relish in the inimitable vista.
You may also choose to host the reception within Villa Tamarama, in which case the resort can organise a long banquet table to be set up by the pool. The table can seat up to 44 guests, and Semara can even arrange the catering with an extensive range of food and drinks options. From free-flow beverages and canapés to barbecues, buffets and set menus, a grand dinner in the villa is the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations before you indulge in designer cocktails under the twilight sky.
If you’d rather hold your ceremony and/or reception outside of the villas, you are invited to reserve any of the resort’s alternative locations. You can walk down the aisle with sand beneath your toes at the private Finn’s Beach Club, or wed amidst beautiful tropical fauna atop the pristine lawns of the cliff-top Selatan restaurant. The restaurant’s lawns provide a fantastic blank canvas for you to create any style of wedding you choose, and they can host up to 150 friends and loved ones.
Semara does not provide fixed wedding packages, so you can be totally flexible with your planning.
