Having opened its doors in 2006, MAIA Resort & Spa provides 30 villas located within lush tropical gardens, enjoying 180-degree, uninterrupted sea views offset by warm and earthy decor tones. There are two types of villa available: Ocean Panoramic Villas and MAIA Signature Villas, and all have spectacular sunsets and dramatic views. Some include common gardens, which are perfect for children or family time.
Each villa comprises two separate pavilions and a private, infinity-edged pool, an inter-leading bathroom with a walk-in shower, a dual vanity, a glorious double outdoor sunken bathtub, maxi-size Hermès amenities, a standard bar, a flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPod station, an outdoor gazebo fully equipped with en-suite dining facilities and an oversized day bed and butler service. Guests staying in the MAIA Signature Villas additionally receive champagne of the guest’s choice, in-villa BBQ dining, early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability), daily private yoga in-villa and one in-villa manicure and pedicure.
Guests will feel complete relaxation as their butler draws an outdoor bath overlooking the ocean and they relax in the heady scent of luxurious Hermès products. Each villa offers Kelly Calèche bath amenities for the ladies and Terre D’Hermès for the men. Terre d’Hermès is a blend of earthy fragrances, whilst Kelly Calèche offers a luxurious floral and leathery scent made in tribute to the brand’s symbols of the Kelly bag and the calèche.

MAIA is also in close proximity to a number of places of interest around the island, which provide several options to keep young travellers occupied and entertained. Trips can be arranged to La Digue and Bird Island – strong favourites with families thanks to their dramatic, volcanic rock formations and wonderful rare bird and turtle sightings. Over and above this, the recreational team will gladly put a program together for children.
