Last August, Dilmah crowned Indonesia’s first Tea Inspiration for the 21st century champion at Pullman Jakarta Indonesia. Ellyas and Saskia from The Papilion emerged as competition winners in the presence of Dilmah Tea founder Merrill J. Fernando and witnessed by the participants’ colleagues, VIP guests and media. With the participation of 20 teams from Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Surabaya, the competition was judged by a panel of prestigious experts including Dilmah CEO Dilhan C. Fernando, chef, restaurateur and Dilmah’s brand ambassador Peter Kuruvita, world champion flair bartender Tomek Malek and Indonesian restaurateur, celebrity chef Chandra Yudasswara. The Dilmah Tea Inspiration for the 21st century challenge reflected Dilmah’s vision to turn tea into a new gastronomy experience to cater to a new generation and is a combination of sophisticated cuisine, brilliant mixology, elegant presentation, culinary theatre and personal stories of tea.
