Bang & Olufsen welcomes the second generation Beosound A1.
Known for taking creativity to another level, Bang & Olufsen has recently launched its second generation of its award-winning portable Bluetooth speaker, the Beosound A1. Built to delight the senses, the new Beosound A1 was designed by renowned Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz and is 7 percent lighter than the previous edition. With lighter casing and a tapered base, the updated version gives the illusion of a floating speaker, without losing the signature sound.
Inside this masterpiece, clearer sound is created from two redesigned drivers consisting of a 3.5-inch aluminium cone mid woofer using a powerful neodymium magnetic system, a silk dome ¾-inch dome tweeter and advanced DSP filtering powered by a pair of 30-watt class D amplifiers. The speaker also comes with aptX adaptive codec for an even better wireless listening experience.
Another great thing to note is the Beosound A1 2nd Gen is the first Bluetooth speaker to include a fully integrated Alexa voice assistant to make it easier to access music, make a call or even to try out a new recipe. Using Far Field Technology, Alexa can be activated from up to 5m away, depending on room conditions, and remain responsive for up to three hours after being turned off. Aside from the voice assistant, three microphones have been installed to improve call clarity, while Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair allow for a faster setup if users want to use the speaker for conference calls.
On the activity front, the second generation speaker brings a massive improvement in battery life with up to 18 hours of listening time at typical volume, compared to four hours in the previous version, and up to 48 hours at moderate volume. Moreover, a new LED warning system has been added to warn of low power and the speaker is easily linked to the Bang & Olufsen app to show battery status.
With its compact size, the Beosound A1 2nd Gen is a great addition for more fun wherever you go, with IP67 certification highlighting added dust and water resistance, including in water up to 1m deep for 30 minutes, so is safe to use by the pool and at the beach.
